Do residents of St James feel safe walking around at night time?

With walking alone in the dark being a concern for many people, I wanted to find out whether St James residents feel safe walking around at night. 

St James resident, Melanie Didcock, said she doesn't always feel safe: “Sometimes walking through St James at night can be scary, I’ve come across people taking drugs, anti-social youths and it doesn’t make it a nice place to walk.”

She even found herself having to change which way she walks home due to safety concerns, “I used to use Victoria Park as a cut through but with it being a hotspot for anti-social behaviour I do everything I can to avoid it.”
