From smashed signs to bright spray paint, Foot Meadow has a large amount of vandalism and graffiti in the area.
Foot Meadow is located in St James End next to the train station.
While the walk is lovely and relaxing, the mass of vandalism and graffiti is also very eye catching due to the bright colours that massively stand out from the greenery which surrounds it.

Upon entry, the outer wall has a minor number of spray-painted words on it as well as on the side of the bridge that crosses over the water, but in the sun the entrance looks beautiful, you can almost look past it and appreciate the scenery surrounding it.
Most of the graffiti is under the bridges where there is what appears to be multiple pieces of different artwork, as well as a lot of writing on the walls.

It’s not just under the bridges where the graffiti is notable, it is also prominent on some of the bins and seats placed around the trail and on some of the signs around the walk and outside which direct you into Foot Meadow.
About halfway through the walk, there is a sign or information board which is placed in the grass that has been destroyed making it impossible to make out what it originally was.

There is a possibility that the amount of graffiti and vandalism to this place may have an affect on those who visit, be this positive or negative.
Graffiti can sometimes be seen as disorderly which may make people avoid the area.
While it is illegal to do under certain conditions on public or private property without full permission from the owners, other people see it as a form of self-expression and may intrigue them which might make them want to visit.
It’s difficult to say why Foot Meadow is so heavily vandalised, but is this something that would cause people to want to avoid this area?
