In Foot Meadow, located opposite the train station, there is a large amount of litter scattered throughout the area.

It is one of the first things someone may notice when they are walking through this section of St James End which is a shame as the walk is lovely when the weather is warm, but the amount of litter puts a tarnish on the visit.

There were multiple bins placed around the area, but there was still a lot of litter thrown around on the grass and on the floor next to the bins even when they weren’t full.

High amounts of litter in areas is bad for the environment as it can stunt plant growth or potentially kill them, it can also be very harmful to wildlife in the area as small animals and birds as they can get stuck in things like bottles or get tangled in the rubbish which can lead to them being injured or even starving to death.
